In the spring of 2013, while living in Buffalo, New York and attending school, I made a statement that would quietly change my life: “I should start taking pictures.” Within weeks,
that thought became reality when a friend placed a camera in my hands. Minutes later, in
a backyard on Imperial Drive, my first photograph was taken—an unassuming moment that would mark the beginning of a lifelong pursuit.

Working alongside organizations like the NAACP and contributing to The Buckeye Review, I used photography not just as an art form, but as a tool for documentation, connection, and truth. My travels took me through the Smoky Mountains and across the country, where I captured more than images—I captured stories. Stories of love and loss, struggle and resilience, life and legacy.

Through years of growth—both behind the lens and within myself—I came to understand a deeper truth: that knowledge of self is the foundation of love, and from that place, transformation is possible. My work reflects that belief, blending raw authenticity with intentional storytelling.
